Pink Hydrangeas, redux

This is a redo of the June 14 post, I just was not pleased with it, so I attempted to fix it more to my liking. I think I am happier with it. I guess it is good when you look at your paintings and want to do them over, or at least improve them and know why you want to improve them! Oy, I think painting is frustrating and wonder about it sometimes. I should be in the garden smelling flowers and not painting them!! That is my mood of late, but all is good, I am going on vacation and hope to come back with a new sense of "wonder"!

This is a larger than usual painting for me. I am at a point where I want to start larger paintings, it's a
new challenge and requires more patience. I am a fast painter and this will force me to plan more and slow down.

Pink Hydrangeas

These flowers are painted from a photo of the prolific hydrangeas that grow in Nantucket. Cape Cod and the islands are the right mix of climate and salt air that allows these beauties to thrive. The color range is amazing, too!
