decided to redo some existing paintings I have been unhappy with. It is therapeutic and I am learning from it. A good way to recycle the stock pile I am making. I am successful or I am tossing!! This is a paint over from May 22.

Pink Hydrangeas, redux

This is a redo of the June 14 post, I just was not pleased with it, so I attempted to fix it more to my liking. I think I am happier with it. I guess it is good when you look at your paintings and want to do them over, or at least improve them and know why you want to improve them! Oy, I think painting is frustrating and wonder about it sometimes. I should be in the garden smelling flowers and not painting them!! That is my mood of late, but all is good, I am going on vacation and hope to come back with a new sense of "wonder"!

These rosehips are a common plant along the coast of Maine, they bloom most of the summer and are colorful and really fragrant.

Pink Hydrangeas

These flowers are painted from a photo of the prolific hydrangeas that grow in Nantucket. Cape Cod and the islands are the right mix of climate and salt air that allows these beauties to thrive. The color range is amazing, too!

This is an old painting I just pulled out and hung in my studio. I decided I liked it and will keep it around for a while. It is one of those old paintings I didn't love, so it was tossed aside. Now, about 2 years later, I am thinking it didn't deserve a spot collecting dust. I honestly had to look up an old post, because I wasn't sure if it was oil or acrylic!!
