Hosta

12 x 12 Oil on canvas board

I started this with the idea that it was going to be too much, so with no pressure I persevered.
I am happy with it, it was an interesting piece to do. I think I need to have a session with my son photographing, I feel all my pictures have been bad. He is technically good. I am not happy with my results, and can't even fix them in photoshop. I think I had better luck with my cheap little point and shoot!

  1. What a cool painting of blues and greens. Would have never thought of painting hosta leaves, but this really works!

  2. I totally agree with Ann. Original idea of hosta leaves. I like it. I hear you about the photos too. I struggle with that a lot also.

  3. I find the glass bowl so fascinating. The light reflecting off it has been captured beautifully without unnecessary details.

  5. Hostas in a glass bowl. What a wonderful idea and I love the big thick stems.

  6. Lovely painting! I think it's really well done. And I had the same problem with my new camera but we're making friends now, so i'm hopeful.
