Gram's Vase with Roses

Trying to post during the crazy holiday season is, well, it is crazy! Too much to do, but we all get thru it somehow. I just go with the flow, hope you are all doing well and getting some quiet painting time.

  1. Very nice. I like how you repeated a little blue in the blooms and a bit of pink i the vase. I find that now that my children are grown, things that belonged to my mother or grandmother, like a vase, hold a lot of significance for me.

  2. I think roses are so hard to paint, and yet you have made it seem effortless - I can almost smell their sweet fragrance! This is a lovely painting, Mary Anne.

  6. Love the colors in this. These roses are great and I like the peach and pink combination. Yes, crazy times...I try to get around to visit and comment, but so many other things calling for me!!!

  7. this is just beautiful mary anne. i love the blues in the roses and the brushstrokes are stunning. isn't this time of year crazy? so much to do. your painting has given me a moment of calm peace. it's lovely!
