I had a hard time trying to get the photo for this. I couldn't get the colors just right. I tried a quick painting with some loose brush work, I'm not sure it's too obvious in this picture.
Well, we are getting hints of spring here in Maine, even if we have to hold our breaths. The birds are really singing some happy songs, lifting our hopes and brightening our days!
I love the skies on summer days. This is a favorite field I take my dogs on walks to, and it is full of birds and wildflowers. By the end of the summer the grass is golden, long and sways in the wind. The dogs hop through it like rabbits. A very happy place for them!
I've been working on some larger paintings and trying to slip a small one in once in awhile.
I enjoyed going back to masonite for this. I do think I like this surface and feel more comfortable with it, but am sure to keep experimenting with a variety of paints and canvases.
I've been trying out my new Raymar canvas panels and having fun with them. I'm not sure about them yet. I still like my masonite, but time will tell. This was from a photo of a nice sunny walk last summer with my sister in law.
I definitely need to work at my titles. I don't know why, but I always feel awkward naming my paintings. After all the work, you think it would come easy!
