This is from a greenhouse and farm in Kennebunk Maine, an awesome little place with plants, animals, old buildings and antiques. It is really cool and an interesting place to visit and wander. A feast for the eyes around every corner.

This was a fun painting, I had done it in pastel, larger, for a juried show, and I didn't think I could pull it off in oils. Now I want to try some larger oils like this!

Mother and baby. I guess the Maine landscape series will include anything in the Maine scape, farms, street scenes, plants. It will all fit, all seen in daily ventures into the outdoors. When searching for painting sites, there are an endless array of visual possibilities, they all make up our landscape and environment. This is from a farm in town, close by.

I thought I would join in the 100 painting club, and do a series of 100 landscape paintings. I won't post them exclusively, I will still mix others in between. But I found I like this 6 x 8 size and figured it would be a good challenge and a similar body of work. I am, however, definitely experimenting with some larger sizes as well, I don't want to stick with only minis! Hope you will enjoy following my Maine landscapes, I will never tire of those!

Gooserocks Beach Path

16 x 16 Oil on canvas
Sold

This is a painting I just delivered for an auction, and as I was rushing to take it out the door, I did a less than adequate job of photographing it. So, this is all I will have to work with. I think is looks better in person, but this is better than nothing.
I have been busy with a couple of juried shows that are happening all at the same time. I am pleased to say I was accepted in a couple, so I am framing and running, and didn't even have time to take pictures of all. I will have to get more organized, but glad to be busy!

These are some bees from our hive, we actually have two hives. This is our second year for having these and harvesting honey. It is such an interesting thing to experience, and not much work at all. The natural order they follow, along with their honey production is pretty amazing.
They will be closing up for the winter soon, and kickin the males out! Their usefulness is done for the season, bye bye drones! I have been wanting to try some paintings of these pretty little buzzers, it was fun and hope to try some other versions soon.

Now for something different. I have been doing some pastels for some shows I am entering, and I miss doing oils! So managed to sneak a few small oil paintings in. This was fun.

For Lee

8 x 10 Oil on canvas panel

This is memory of a special woman and friend in my life. She loved art, and was full of insight. This was one of her favorite places to visit. A place by the bay, I would take her to just sit, think, and reminisce.
