Another of my new abstract "Decontructed" series. I am not sure this is finished, I wasn't totally happy with paint application and need to redo a few spots. I am still trying different canvas options, also. I think this type of work will be better with gessobord, but am interested in exploring.

Abstract Poppies

This is a new direction I am exploring. Here is my first example, I am developing a theme of abstract paintings of subjects I am labeling, "deconstructed". To break down a subject, or dissect an image. I am excited with the possibilities, as I have been underwhelmed with my recent work. I was a graphic artist in college, so this is more in keeping with how I think and see art, in a more graphic way with strong, bolder shapes. My paintings are taking more consideration and longer painting periods. I am hoping for the best!!! More to come........

Pines and Wildflowers

This is from a field near my home that I frequently walk and have grown to love all the seasons there.
They hay it at the end of summer, but before they do there are wild iris in spring and wildflowers in the summer and fall. Along with many birds, including bluebirds.

Peaks Island Sunset

This is a palette knife painting of a late summer sunset on an island off of Portland, Maine. I am interested in exploring knife painting as of late. I find it appealing, but I have a lot to learn. Just another method of painting that keeps me from finding my style. I don't know what I will ever stick with, I will just remain the perpetual student!

This is a redo or paint over. I have been stuck on what I want to paint and how I want to paint and
decided to redo some existing paintings I have been unhappy with. It is therapeutic and I am learning from it. A good way to recycle the stock pile I am making. I am successful or I am tossing!! This is a paint over from May 22.
