Looking for some interesting facts on avocados, trying to give this little painting a different name, I came upon some new information regarding this fruit. Here is one of the facts, native to Mexico, this is what it is also known as!! Just hung in a show in Damariscotta, I'm sure the title will be baffling!

This is an oil from the past that was hanging around my studio unloved. I kept eyeing it with unhappiness, but with some hope attached. So, I tackled it, just a little, lightened it up and now I have a bit of a crush on it. Not quite love, but better........

These beautiful oranges are from a recent trip to California. If anyone saw me taking close up photos of oranges, they probably wondered if I ever saw them before. Well, we don't have the privilege of having citrus growing like this in the northeast, and I always wanted to paint some in all their glory, on the trees with leaves! So, here is the first of maybe many more!

It is rainy, cold and dreary in New England. I feel we are losing out on the spring here. We are supposed to be out enjoying this time of year, gardening, walking and enjoying the new flowers. Instead, we are holed up, and I am getting impatient! My son is leaving to go sailing off the coast of Mexico into the warm and sunny South Pacific. My imagination is with him in the bright sunshine and surrounded by aqua waters with warm tropical breezes......

I must say, I haven't been the best about posting regularly. Lately, I seem to be caught up in too many other things and have been neglecting my painting time.
