I must say, even though I don't think my proportions are exact, this was fun. I tried to do it quickly with some loose strokes so I would not get too fussy. I have been wanting to try a statue, I enjoyed it enough to want to do some more.

I love the skies on summer days. This is a favorite field I take my dogs on walks to, and it is full of birds and wildflowers. By the end of the summer the grass is golden, long and sways in the wind. The dogs hop through it like rabbits. A very happy place for them!

I've been working on some larger paintings and trying to slip a small one in once in awhile.

I enjoyed going back to masonite for this. I do think I like this surface and feel more comfortable with it, but am sure to keep experimenting with a variety of paints and canvases.

This is from a recent trip to Florida. The grassy field and palm trees were just blowing so rhythmically that it seemed magical, even though it was a cloudy day! There was a dirt road, thankfully, because I imagined all sorts of snakes in the tall grass!

This is another painting I have on my web and decided it would be a good painting to show in both spots. Some people have suggested that viewers don't always go to the web from the blog.

I donated paintings this summer to the Farm Alliance in town to raise money for them so I got to visit a lot of abundant gardens! It was a great project to undertake for many reasons, mostly the riot of colors.
